A walk to remember…
... with our alpacas!
Trek through nature alongside an alpaca. Slow down and relax. Join us for an alpaca trekking adventure!
Observe them in peace, pet them, or play with them – interacting with animals can help calm your senses and soothe your soul. Our farm, Sigis Sauhaufen, offers unique experiences that provide entertainment, fun, and excitement for kids and mental relaxation for adults. The animal-related activities we offer include, for instance, alpaca trekking, the perfect opportunity to explore the Seefeld region on foot with friendly animals by your side.
Fun facts about alpacas
Alpacas are part of the camel family and originate in the South American Andes, specifically Peru, where 80% of the global population still resides. Unlike their camel cousins, these “New World camels” lack humps. The Indigenous people of South America first domesticated alpacas about 7,000 years ago, mainly for their wool, while their larger relatives, llamas, have long been utilised as pack animals. Alpacas come in two breeds, Huacaya and Suri, each characterised by the unique texture of their wool.
Travelling with alpacas
Alpacas are naturally good-natured and exude a calming presence. As herd animals, they are very approachable and friendly towards humans. A leisurely walk through the stunning panoramic landscape of Tyrol’s beautiful high plateau allows you to connect with the alpacas personally and gain insights into their behaviour, needs, and characteristics. Spending time with our alpacas offers additional benefits: their presence naturally relaxes and slows you down. As you walk in sync with these animals, you’ll feel a wave of calm wash over you. Much like our petting zoo, alpaca trekking blends fun and wellness to create a truly memorable experience.
Are you looking for YOUNIQUE moments after your trek? Come and visit us at the Hotel Klosterbräu Seefeld for more unforgettable experiences. We look forward to your visit!
Dear Klosterbräu Family,
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to EVERYONE for the countless messages and the incredible outpouring of support. Please know that we are all safe.
At present, we are still in an orientation phase and in close coordination with authorities and partners. As difficult as it is for us to say: based on current information, we unfortunately will not be able to welcome you during the upcoming summer season. Our major goal, however, is to reopen the Klosterbräu at the beginning of December 2026. We are currently contacting all reservations that fall within this period. Thank you for your patience.
We are doing everything in our power—with full commitment, day by day—to make this possible. Over the course of the summer, we will be able to better assess whether this timeline can be met.
To stay closely connected with us, we warmly invite you to follow our latest updates via our WhatsApp channel, Instagram, Facebook, or by subscribing to our newsletter.
There is one thing we can say with full conviction:
Alongside the necessary reconstruction work, we will also bring our heartfelt projects to life—
including the expansion of the wellness area, a new natural swimming pond, new rooms, and the renovation of the existing spa.
Something new is being created—while at the same time preserving what lies at the very heart of the Klosterbräu.
Because we know:
What truly lives within the Klosterbräu cannot be taken by fire—rooted in its history, new beauty will rise from the ashes.
With warm regards
Your hosts
