The main source of our thermal energy is the Seefeld Bio-Ortswärme, a state-of-the-art wood chipping plant. A solar system serves as a supplementary power source for heating our swimming pools. That's all we need to make you feel comfortably warm everywhere. Our electricity is covered 100% by green electricity suppliers. These are producers who completely dispense with fossil fuels. Furthermore, the photovoltaic system on the hotel roof was expanded +150kw in spring 2023.

In 2019, various energy saving & electricity management measures were implemented with the company Siemens, involving an investment of €700,000. Since 2020, we have been free of fossil fuels, with the exception of the gas line for the pizza oven.

Heat recovery
- All central ventilation systems have heat recovery.

At Hotel Klosterbräu*** we intentionally choose classic room keys over modern electronic locking systems. While this may seem nostalgic at first glance, for us it’s a sustainable decision – and a charming detail that perfectly fits with our 500-year history.
Our guests pick up their keys personally at the reception – creating genuine connections and leaving room for personalized tips and a friendly chat. Unlike electronic systems that require hundreds of batteries per season, the classic key saves both energy and resources.

At present, we are still in an orientation phase and in close coordination with authorities and partners. As difficult as it is for us to say: based on current information, we unfortunately will not be able to welcome you during the upcoming summer season. Our major goal, however, is to reopen the Klosterbräu at the beginning of December 2026. We are currently contacting all reservations that fall within this period. Thank you for your patience.
We are doing everything in our power—with full commitment, day by day—to make this possible. Over the course of the summer, we will be able to better assess whether this timeline can be met.
