Two wheels. Four routes. One plateau.
What type of cyclist are you?
More than 570 kilometres of bike trails wind around the Seefeld Plateau – and every route has its own story to tell. Which one speaks to you?
The Klosterbräu and cycling simply go together. In summer especially, many guests are out on their bikes from morning to evening, discovering the plateau one ride at a time. Our bike expert Wolfgang knows every turn, every tucked-away viewpoint, and every stretch where the landscape shows off its true character. Here he shares four of his favourite routes: two for riders who like to earn their reward, and two for those who prefer to take things easy.
The Wildmoosalm – for leisurely riders
11.6 kilometres. 286 metres of elevation gain. Around 90 minutes. The Wildmoosalm is both the destination and the reward: a sunny terrace, fresh mountain air, and that satisfying feeling of having arrived exactly where you wanted to be. The perfect first ride on the plateau – expansive, scenic, easy on the legs.
The Three Lakes – for lovers of beautiful scenery
16.6 kilometres. 350 metres of elevation gain. Just over two hours. Three lakes, three moods, one plateau showing what it’s made of. Every kilometre offers a new reason to pause – to take in reflections on the water, forest stretches, or mountain panoramas. A stop at the Möserer Seestubn rounds off the day perfectly.
The Isar Spring – for explorers
46 kilometres. 518 metres of elevation gain. Around four and a half hours. This route takes you deep into the Gaistal valley and generously rewards riders willing to put the effort in. Let Tyrol show you one of its most untouched sides: wide Alpine meadows, rugged peaks, and long stretches where only the rhythm of your tyres on the trail breaks the silence. A stop at the Kastenalm or the Scharnitzer Alm will refuel you for the rest of the journey.
The Lake Seebensee – for ambitious cyclists
58 kilometres. 1,187 metres of elevation gain. More than six hours. But the toughest ride on Wolfgang’s list also delivers the most spectacular scenery. The route winds through the Gaistal and climbs up to the Lake Seebensee, with the Ehrwalder Alm as the perfect place for a break. It demands stamina, determination, and strong legs, and amply repays you with dramatic mountain panoramas, crystal-clear lake views, and the unforgettable feeling of having reached one of Tyrol’s most beautiful spots.
Back at the Klosterbräu, 3,500 square metres of wellness welcome tired legs, along with our beloved beer fountain and the warm character of 500-year-old walls. And if you’d rather not travel with your bike in tow, we also offer high-quality hotel bikes for hire.
