Five rituals. One autumn. Entirely yours.
Which well-being type are you?
Honey, turmeric, ginger, oats – the ingredients for an autumn ritual may already be waiting in your kitchen. The only question is which kind of well-being ritual calls to you.
A true ritual is born of stillness, repetition, and a few wholesome ingredients. Here are three ways to invite the spirit of an autumn spa day into your home – drawn from the philosophy of the Klosterbräu spa.
Type 1: The water lover
For you, well-being begins the moment you turn the tap on and leave your phone in another room. This ritual unfolds in the bath.
- Hops-and-malt bath: Want to give your bath a little Klosterbräu twist? Add 500 ml of dark beer, 200 ml of double cream, and 2 tbsp of honey to a warm bath. The yeast and hops give your skin a dose of B vitamins, while the milk fat helps nourish your skin.
- Set the scene: Warm a towel on the radiator, light a few candles, and set a twenty-minute timer. Then sink in, switch off, and step out before the water cools.
Type 2: The sensory soul
Texture, fragrance, and the feel of silky-soft skin are your self-care language. This ritual is made for the senses.
- Honey-and-oat face mask: Combine 3 tbsp of finely ground oats, 2 tbsp of natural yoghurt, and 1 tsp of honey into a paste. Apply it to your face and neck and leave on for ten minutes. The oats soothe your skin, the honey moisturises, and the lactic acid in the yoghurt gently refines your complexion.
- Chamomile steam: Add a handful of chamomile flowers to a bowl of hot water, place a towel loosely over your head, and let the steam warm your face for five minutes. It opens your pores, so everything you apply afterwards will be even more effective.
Type 3: The comfort seeker
For you, true well-being begins from within. These rituals fit easily into a mug, jug, or thermos.
- Ginger and turmeric tea: Simmer 1 litre of water with a 2-inch piece of ginger, sliced, 1 inch of fresh turmeric root, and a pinch of black pepper for ten minutes. Strain, then add lemon juice and honey at the end to preserve their vitamins. The black pepper helps your body absorb the turmeric.
- Golden oat milk: Warm 250 ml of oat milk with 1 tsp of turmeric, a pinch of cinnamon, and 1 tsp of honey. A warming close to any October day.
Until your next visit to the Klosterbräu, unwind in your own way.
