Traditional Tyrolean cuisine
A culinary journey through the Alps
True tradition lives on – and welcomes the present day!
For us, tradition isn’t about clinging to the past – it’s about carrying the essence of our homeland into the present with pride. We don’t follow old recipes out of habit. We cook with heart, common sense, and the ingredients that naturally thrive here.
The ingredients we use at the Klosterbräu Hotel & Spa come almost exclusively from the Seefeld Plateau and surrounding communities. We know our producers personally, share their values, and respect their craft. Whether it’s fresh fish from crystal-clear mountain streams, hay milk from cows grazing on Alpine pastures, or potatoes from nearby farms, we know exactly what we’re serving you, and more importantly, whom we have to thank for it.
A cornerstone of our philosophy is our farm, just a few steps from the hotel. There, our animals live in species-appropriate conditions – with ample space, fresh air, and a natural environment. Around 200 free-range hens lay fresh eggs for us daily, which you’ll find ready each morning on our “Happy Eggs Wall”.
What we don’t source from our partners, we prefer to make ourselves: homemade chocolate spreads, jams, compotes, herbal salts, fragrant incense – and, since 2022, our own YOUNIQUE wild herb tea blend, which captures the taste of a mountain summer.
When it comes to meat, we rely on Austrian quality and ethical, species-appropriate farming. Yes, it can be more complex and costly, but it is worth it. The texture and marbling may vary because real food isn’t standardised.
Everything we serve must meet one simple standard: It should be so good that we’d feed it to our own children every single day, without hesitation. That’s not a temporary trend or marketing slogan. That’s what traditional Tyrolean cuisine means to us: honest, sustainable, and full of soul. You can taste it in every single bite.
